Drupal now working
The website has been successfully converted to Drupal, a popular open source content management system.
The website is based on two very flexible and powerful implements: GMOD’s molecular biology relational database schema, chado and the open-source content management system, Drupal. Both of these tools are designed to manage substantial amounts of diverse content that require integration and regular maintenance. The Drupal system has been bound to the chado database, creating a simple, web based interface which allows content curators to create and manage the biological content in the database. The Drupal system excels at providing permissions and security, allowing indivdual curators to access the appropriate content while protecting sensitive data. Advanced applications for this system include web-based data-uploading for users to submit data or to analyze data via web services or internal software. The direction of growth and overall goal for the FGW is to become a cyberinfrastructure resource that enables novel research and collaboration in the Fagaceae community.
