Markers
The objective of this project is to establish new large mapping populations in Chinese and American Chestnut and, using candidates derived from sequence data, develop SNPS and SSRs to distinguish Chinese and American genome segments. Once mapping and screening are carried out using chestnut SNPs and SSRs, we will develop marker association genetic screening for BC3 and BC4 progeny.
